The Mudds Jazz & Blues Trio

via About

The Mudds Trio consist of Sam Mudd singer, songwriter & guitarist, wife Betsy Mudd bassist, and Ed Centanni on Saxophone & Clarinet.

The Mudds are known for their quite soulful sound. They are out of Inverness & Ocala, Florida. After almost a lifetime of touring the world, Sam handed the bass over to his wife. He taught her his bag of tricks all the while writing all of the songs on their first album “Dream One Day”. Ed joined The Mudds after hearing them play at Whispering Oaks Winery. Ed’s saucy licks and sultry leads add the perfect spice to their music. *If your event requires a bigger sound they know several professional guest musicians throughout central Florida.

So sit back, relax and enjoy The Mudds’ quite toe tapping traditional jazz and blues style that returns you to the days of Louisiana speak-easy lounges and cool cats.

The Mudds are known for their quite soulful sound. They are out of Inverness & Ocala, Florida. After almost a lifetime of touring the world, Sam handed the bass over to his wife, Betsy. He taught her his bag of tricks all the while writing all of the songs on their first album “Dream One Day”. Betsy’s smooth bass rhythmic lines work. Best of all she’s solid and always smiling.

Ed joined The Mudds after hearing them play at Whispering Oaks Winery. Ed’s saucy licks and sultry leads add the perfect spice to the music. Ed Centanni (a.k.a. Doctor Ed) grew up in Mobile Alabama, the birthplace of that uniquely Southern party tradition…Mardi Gras. He has been playing saxophone and clarinet professionally since high school and was classically trained in music at the University of Southern Mississippi. He was actively involved in the Mobile music scene for many years, playing classical, big band, Mardi Gras balls, musical theater, jazz, swing, country, pop, blues and rock all along the Gulf Coast. While living in Tampa, FL he played Tenor sax with Charlie Vegas and the New Blues Combo. Now playing Tenor sax, Alto sax and Clarinet with the Mudds, He contributes a versatile, and spirited blues sound to the band. If your event requires a bigger sound they know several professional guest musicians throughout central Florida.
