Samuel Mudd has played Bass Guitar since the early age of 12 when growing up in Southern California. In the 1970s he moved to the Space Coast of Florida where he attended school having played in the band that supplied the music at his own senior Prom. Though every style of music from rock, country, jazz, top 40 and disco has been performed with his local area musicians, his true roots were based in Blues. A marriage in 1985 caused Sam to move to the West Coast – Tampa Bay area of Florida where by chance meeting he was introduced to Rock Bottom and the Cutaways, a touring Blues band that did 2 tours through Scandinavia in 1985 & 1986 as well as many tours through the Southeast USA. Sam continued to play with area guitarist Sarasota Slim and Lucky Peterson up till 1990 during which he has shared the stage with countless local and touring artist. Having enough of the Starvation Tours that most musicians go through, Sam took a nearly 25 year hiatus from performing, though he continued to record his original music through the year 2000. In 2014 Sam returned to performing, playing with some of the finest musicians the Tampa Bay area has to offer. They are also guest players with many bands such as Little Mike and the Tornadoes, Sarasota Slim, Sam toured the world with Rock Bottom and The Cuttaways, Franc Robert & The Boxcar Tourist and many others. They maintain constant contact with many musicians around Florida. They recently toured Georgia and the Carolina’s with Sarasota Slim out of St Petersburg, Fl. and Nitro Bozeman and played the the Pop Ferguson Festival in Lenore.
